As the Assistant Director of Business Career Services, Tim serves as the primary programming resource on all Career-related efforts for Business Career Services. He supports the BCS Director and Associate Dean in leading Business Career Services towards effective student advocacy and guidance while developing and retaining employer relations with local, regional, national, and international employers. Tim is an experienced trainer and presenter on topics such as job-searching, social media, networking, interviewing, and professionalism. He supports the MU Campus through service on the MU Career Services Council and other related ventures.
Tim cultivated a finite understanding of industry-wide standards in hiring and employment practices as a Lead Recruiter for Aerotek in Chicago, IL, and there he trained and developed each new recruiter for Aerotek to come to similar knowledge levels and practices. His experiences as a business professional coupled with his desire and aptitude for education and training new business professionals has bridged his career to this point in time. After his time as a Recruiter, Tim and his family have come to Columbia where he grew up as a child. He and his wife, Renae McIntosh, have two children, a son, Henry, and daughter, Louella. Renae is a Registered Nurse for the University Hospital’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and like Tim, came to the University in October.
Come by and say hello, get some resume, cover letter, interviewing, and career coaching advice from him, and utilize resources such as him as you embark on your own career ‘adventure’.
