Dual Degree and Certificate Program

Some students wish to combine the study of business with another field of interest to them.  This creates a unique career path, and the MU Crosby MBA program’s flexibility facilitates this.

  • Certificates - Students may earn certificates in certain fields related to their chosen career path. Examples include Nonprofit Management in the MU Truman School of Public Affairs, and European Union Studies
  • Dual Degree Programs - Formal dual degree programs allow students to complete two degrees in substantially less time than if they work on them separately.  Students interested in these programs must apply to and meet the admission requirements of both programs.
      • MBA and Law – Integrate understanding of the business operation with ability to apply laws governing public or corporate organizations.  Earn both your MBA and JD in four years.

      • MBA and Health Services – Students who wish to pursue a business career in the health care industry benefit from the applicable course work in both of these fields.  A required internship provides students with practical experience and networking opportunities at medical facilities across the nation.
          • For application materials and additional information about the Master of Health Administration (MHA) degree, write to: Director of Graduate Studies in Health Services Management, 324 Clark Hall, Columbia, MO 65211, or call (573) 882-6178. Health Services Management
      • MBA and Industrial Engineering – Dual degree opportunities exist on both the bachelor and master degree levels.  Undergraduate students at MU may enroll in a 5-year BSIE/MBA program.  Students who already hold a baccalaureate degree in industrial engineering from an accredited institution may enroll in a 3-year MSIE/MBA program.
          • These IE degree programs are highly marketable in today’s global technology-based economy.  The complex problems facing today’s organizations often require that the engineer’s analytical ability be applied simultaneously with the manager’s integrative perspective.
