Centers & Institutes

The college serves companies, government agencies, and other organizations as well as its faculty, staff, and students through several specialized agencies.

Center for the Digital Globe

The primary goals of the Center include interdisciplinary research, teaching, and service to Missouri businesses, as well as on the national and international level, including the creation and implementation of a certificate program, to be available at the master's and professional level, studying digitization and globalization of technology.

Center for Religion, the Professions, and the Public

Including the professions of business, engineering, health professions, journalism, law, medicine, nursing, psychology, and social work, the Center will support research, curricular development, and public outreach programs focusing on professional practices and values in a religiously plural society.

Contracting and Organizations Research Institute

The Contracting and Organizations Research Institute is an interdisciplinary research institute dedicated to the study of the organization and structure of economic enterprise and of the effects of legal, political, social, and economic institutions on the structure and performance of economic organizations.

Financial Research Institute

The Financial Research Institute (FRI) was established to promote education, research and service across various areas of finance.

Jeffrey E. Smith Institute of Real Estate

The mission of the Smith Institute of Real Estate is to prepare future leaders in commercial real estate development, management, and related financial services areas by providing world-class educational, research, and professional opportunities for students of the University of Missouri-Columbia and the professional real estate and financial services community.

Missouri Bankers Chair

The Missouri Baners Chair was created because of the educational needs of the Missouri banking community.

Missouri Innovation Center

MIC is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization that was established in 1984 with initial funding from the State of Missouri. Its purpose is regional economic development through formation and incubation of new ventures in the Mid-Missouri region.

Missouri Training Institute

The Missouri Training Institute (MTI) provides professional development and training services to businesses and government organizations. Our mission is to provide creative solutions to improve performance and organizational effectiveness.
