Steve Ferris named Interim Dean for the Trulaske College of Business

Provost Garnett Stokes announced Steve Ferris has been appointed Interim Dean for the Trulaske College of Business. Dr. Ferris is the Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Studies & Research and has served the University of Missouri for more than 22 years. Additionally, he is the J.H. Rogers Chair of Money, Credit and Banking, and Director of the Financial Research Institute. Dr. Ferris succeeds Dean Joan Gabel who will join the University of South Carolina as Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost. He will begin his appointment on August 22, 2015.

As Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Studies & Research, Dr. Ferris leads the successful preparation of the college's MBA students and readies the next generation of thought leaders as business professors. During his tenure, the college's new execMBA program for executives was successfully launched and today educates an impressive group of industry professionals. Faculty members in the college have continued to publish impactful research in leading academic journals with coverage in the national media from The New York Times to The Economist. Dr. Ferris focuses his research on international corporate finance and corporate governance. Recently, he released a series of studies on CEOs which was covered in the St. Louis Post Dispatch and the Economic Times.

Dr. Ferris earned a BA from Duquesne University, an MSS from the U.S. Army War College and both an MBA and PhD from the University of Pittsburgh.
